Bolted Flange Design

The Bolted Flange Design spreadsheet was created by us in 2016 to help us in the pressure vessel design for some of our clients.
1. Description
This calculation spreadsheet was created in 2016 when I didn't have access to pressure vessel design softwares as PVElite or Codeware and was tired of during it by hand every time (although I learned a lot by doing so). It's not perfect but it was useful back then.
After I got access to PVElite (the company that I worked for finally agreed to pay for the yearly license) I stopped using this spreadsheet. You can see that it still have our old logo. As it wasn't updated since 2016 and wasn't tested in all scenarios/flange configurations, only the ones that I needed when created the spreadsheet, I advise you to use it for studying purpose only.
This spreadsheet was created using ASME BPVC Section VIII Division 1 Appendix 2.
2. Limitations
- Only UNC bolt data
- No Material data (you have to add it yourself)
- Can't use Cast Materials
- No Reverse Flanges
- No Nut Stop Flanges
- No Gasket data
- No step-by-step factors calculation

4. How to Use
The spreadsheet is really straightforward to use, just selected the flange type and fill the cells with data (by entering it yourself or selecting one option from a drop down list). After your done with input, the results will be shown in the top down rows. You can also check the calculated minimum required thickness by clicking in the calculate button. The calculation is done using VBA so make sure to allow macros when working with the spreadsheet.

6. Support
As this spreadsheet is deprecated we don't offer any kind of support for it. The reason it's deprecated is because we don't have time to keep it updated. We are now 100% focused in the development of our Modules.
